Hi everyone, I figure to start this forum to tAlk about winter projects and have other members help people in need.
I am going to be doing a good winter project on my 1985 242ls. I have a 350 :/ with alpha and just want to make it purr. So I am doing thru hull exhaust. Straight out the back. But looking at the motor and water line it seems like It can be a little difficult to do. I was wondering If anyone has done this before. Either on a 350 or not. My manifold is tilted down a little and if I run straight hose it seems that it will hit the steering. I have not checked it completely yet because I want to do some research. Also should I put some kind of muffler on it? Yes I want a good sound but also need a little back pressure so it doesn't wear out my motor. Any help from anyone would be awesome. Thank you.

I just got the stock 350 (SB) with 17P 3 blade. nothing else done to it. I just got the boat. I want to do through hull, put a manifold spacer to raise the exhaust higher, then ill clear the steering to go right out the back. Going to have to do something about the 4inch tips and the 3inch manifolds.

I just did mine last weekend I have the 242ls with the twin 350's I took the 3 to 4 inch boot and put it on the manifold, then took the 90's that run to the y pipe and cut them before the bend to give me a flange to connect the 4" exhaust hose to and it works fine and sounds a lot better
