There are a lot of the 292's for sale, this is one I was going to check out.

I think many are either looking for a bit smaller with single power to start with, say a 25/26, or something bigger than a 292, say a 32/33/35. In the end, the cabin isn't what I would want.
Doesn't seem to be a popular model.

^^^your link seems like a good deal too. i guess it depends on personal budget...
all the equipment and mechanics are the same for 2003 and newer minus livorsi guages, and helm layout...
depends on how much you are willing to dish out for a newer slightly less used boat...lower motor hours.
39.9 just seems really low and it includes a trailer.

Looking at a $200k new build price on a 292, first thing I notice is no enclosed head
Not another one of them for me, ever, especially in that price range. Quite a huge drop in prices on this model for a newer boat. I suspect Formula's funky loans had something to do with the problems.
Not in the position this summer, but the 292 would be a good fit for me. I'd prefer a better cockpit/cabin layout, so the 290SS would be a much better match. Dontt particularly like to looks though.

Boat manufacturers dont like to throw in enclosed heads until 30+ ft...with good reason, the cabin would feel tight on a 29 ft especially in a fastech with a stepped hull
they are nice starter boats but idk why prices dont seem to be holding strong. it seems like even the baja's are holding better value.

Mine 06 292 6.2s with trailer...got offered 40k on a tradein last Sat.For 40k I will run it for three more years and part it out.
The escape program hurt but thats not all of it 30 to 100 k price range is a working man or small business owners price range. They are not buying the guy that can afford a 200k boat right now is not looking at a 292.
Plus most who have them want to go bigger /faster hence the low prices. But ultimately its going to hurt Formula bad.Are they even building Fastechs?
Its really not a bad boat you can fix the planing problem for about 2k.Get rid of the cast iron exhaust.Putting Aluminum on takes 270 lbs off the back of the boat.Mine comes out of the water pretty quick now.I hate that they did not make hydraulic steering standard but my fault for buying it.

If I could even get close to what I owe on it Pantera is giving me a great price on an over the winter build for a new 36.But no way I am taking 40k
Pantera was not who offered me the 40k by the way. That was on another boat.Joe has offered to help sell mine but house is almost paid off so need to wait another year.
