I don't think so, it was LOA or length overall. If it was 37-7 at the waterline that boat would be over 40 long.

Centerline length 35'7"
Length with swim platform 37'7"

And for useless trivia purposes, with 420/TRS setup waterline length is 29' 5 1/3" according to Formula's spec sheet.

Seems like many of the older generation (pre fastech) have water intrusion and stress crack issues. Is it all of them or just some boats.

they do? only issues Ive ever seen are on the 223 and 242's, around the portholes on deck, I have not one on my 271

any 20 year old boat has the possibility of water intrusion where caulk/seals have worn out. Part of the reason you think you see this being an issue with older Formulas is that most of the other brands built back then aren't even running anymore!!!! The boats are solid and in 5 years none of these things should be an issue, after 20 years you'd expect these types of issues.

Sure any boat would have the potential to get wet.. Ive just noticed a few rebuilds of formulas and they all involve stringers, floors, bulkheads and some transoms. Love the boats and im contemplating a few different ones..just determining if I should hold out for a newer fastech model.

The LOA - length overall - tip of the bow to end of the swim platform is 37'7"...all agreed. So the "waterline" length would obviously be less. 2ft for the platform, plus about 6ft of the bow that doesn't sit in the water.

I think I've uploaded the spec sheets before, can't now. Formula sent them to me when I was having a trailer built.

As for cracks and water issues, a lot has to do with previous owner maintenance and storage. The boats with issues probably spent time outside without covers.

its just like any 20+ year old boat, but there are far more 20+ year old formula out there running and looking better then any other brand, not to mention Formula owners seem to be more meticulus (if I spelled that right) then any other brand

Im confused how your getting 39 feet at the waterline..did you mean 35?
