I run mine in the ocean and while the boat can run 65 in 4-5s you better like driving it because it can be a handful.
With that said, the 292 is a great boat... just not one I want to be in during 3'+ conditions. My useless 2 cents... |

You guys must have different definitions on water conditions then we do. When the marine conditions are showing 3'+ in our area the 292 I've been in was far from "loving" or "skipping" across the tops. I can't imagine that boat ever making it to 65 in true 4'-5' without disintegrating, going into orbit, or significant bodily injury!

Jersey guys are tough:lolhit: I have done it, its just not something we do all the time,It can be done but like I said you will!!!!!!! be driving it.Also the ocean is a little easier that a large lake that has waves running from all different directions. In the ocean they are usually farther apart and have a more gradual slope. |
Like I said, great boat, but not one I would suggest for rougher conditions. Reading this someone could be misled to think that a 292 is decent choice for running in 3'+ conditions at speed. Well, I guess it would be if the alternative is a 21! :lolhit: No doubt the 292 will do it, but as someone pointed out earlier (Justin?), it's still a sub 30' boat that wasn't really designed to run in those conditions. Honestly, 3'+ seas get your attention in boats 10' longer, 4-5' seas are less than idea for a 29' boat IMO. Although as Expensive said, open ocean running is certainly easier running than confused chop of equal size...

Thanks to the "trim tab" thread, I just ordered the last set of ASPracing tabs that fit the Bennetts!:evilb:

I used to think its a lake how bad can it be.Till I ran in a big lake, not anywhere as big as Erie though and it was only 2-3 that day.Its totally different from the ocean the waves come from all over different directions very hard to read.So I would have to agree.

Hey Cuposterchild...the boat came without any manuals/binder or documentation about it at all. I don't even know how to work the radio/Sirius combo. Could you get anything for me...it would be very appreciated.
