I have the same problem on my 271. I just put a dab of silicone on the back post and stuck it back in the hole, its not a very elaborate solution but it has worked all season.

It's hard to tell from the pic, but looks like maybe the tab on the left (upside down) of the cover broke off. Pop one of your other ones off and compare, you should be able to take them on and off without issue.

I got a question. I've had a couple rockers stop working. Mainly the trim tabs. It clicks to go down but it won't click to go back up or vice versa. Is it a bad switch or just a new cover? I've just been swapping them out with drive switches since I don't really use them. Heard those switches were pricey.

is there resistance when you push the button or do they the plastic rocker trim tabs just flop about...

the plastic rockers attach to the actual switch with plastic pins...ours just recent broke and are easily replaced...

if the switch is actually not functioning then you have no choice but to replace the whole switch which could get pricey...

it just flops around as you put it. my trim tab switch which just went would still go down but wouldn't go back up. it wouldn't click down.

you just replaced the pins you said. would you mind sharing what you did? the cheapest i could find the switch was 36.

If you ever need to replace the entire switch we have standard black and white replacements with optional lighting in the switch available!

http://www.cpperformance.com/c-178-rocker-switches.aspx

Reasonably priced too

as people have mentioned...they are just plastic switches...they tend to crack and breakdown over time. you def do not need an entire switch...just order the plastic rocker.

they snap on and off...takes 2-3 minutes tops
