I just picked up a Garmin 546 and we're having a tough time finding a suitable spot on the dash of my 1999 353. There is some room on the passanger dash, but this will not be much use to me when driving. It appears there is just barely enough room to mount it between the engine gauges under the speedo, but the stock swivel mount will have it sitting awkwardly high. Has anyone used a flush mount for this unit on the 353 dash? It seems like my only option but I'm wondering if there is enough room behind with the harness going to the gauges.. Thanks for any info.
