Well we got her in the water!
Big list of goods and bads!

The biggest issue right now is fuel!!!!!!!

Took it out friday evening, it had probably around 80-90 gallons of 2+ year old fuel plus some fuel stablizer i dumped in it. We Couldnt get much over 3k without it breaking up, and she wouldnt sync up for anything! All in all good first run.

Sat. i put 110 gallons in it we did some more work and took it out again. This time breaking up even worse. Got her back do the dock and pulled down the water separators. Found alot of junk in there but no water..... at that point it was dark so we called it a day.

Sunday I got into the carbs a bit and pulled the filters out of the primary and secondaries and put new water sep's on. Then i dumped enough octane boost to treat about 150 gallons in. All the sudden she is a different boat!!!!!

Ran her out for a couple hours, did some idle'n then ran her up and back down. This time she ran GREAT until you got over 4k rpm. now i think we just need to burn out some fuel and get some hi test and we should be good.

Other then that we need to do a pair of thermostats cause they are stickn, were going to do the impellers just to be safe too.

As far as speed the best i could do with the gas was 53mph on the GPS. She really settles into a cruise at about 3400 doing 41mph. Thats with 4 guys and a full tank runnin into the wind.

The funny thing is most of the systems are working, we even got the AC to fire right up that surprised the hela outa me!

If things go well we may try to run over to the solomans island race this weekend. We were going to try and get there for the boat docking comp, but with the fuel issues i didnt want to risk it.

so some pics.....

fresh in the water!

we were runnin 45 i think here. the dog was not liking the cool wind.

here is a link to a real quick video of us idling out of the marina

all they had at the dock was 87.... so 80 gallons of old fuel 110 gallons of 87 and 150 gallon treatment of octane boost...... Probably no where NEAR where i need to be just yet! hehehe

So the bad boy is running better every time you take it out.
Dump the fuel filters again in a clear glass container.
Run the boat again, run it hard, todays fuel sucks, you need to clear out your system completly, todays fuel evaporates and causes several problems with older fuel systems, AND has no staying power. Glad to hear each time out everything seems to be getting better. HOWS THE RIDE?????? IT MUST REALLY RIDE NICELY.
ENJOY WISH YOU THE BEST OF LUCK WITH IT.

Thanks for the info guys.

The dog does have a lifejacket, but he was spending most of the trip sleeping in the cabin i didnt put it on him.

Hopefully more octane boost will help and burning some fuel down too!

on a side note, its not a rush but im going to need a swim ladder, any ideas where to get a replacement?
