Question What can I expect speed wise from this boat?

http://www.offshoreonly.com/classifi...o36656-en.html

Top speed?

I`m starting to really like it, no Bravo 'break every season' garbage out back, those drives should be pretty strong?
Older but updated, I`m liking it. Needs a few more touches like getting rid of the black old school dash and such but otherwise it looks good for the price

p.s. ive never traded a boat in... is it the same as cars, you better put some lube up there or its gonna hurt?

I'm guessing........650hp with trannies and #3's. 75mph, not even 80 on a good day.

I could be wrong, but is that Bob Barkers (from oso)old 357? Not many around with the SSM drives that i know of. I remember a 357 at a repo yard in michigan. It had BIG CI motors, and SSM III drives. This gotta be the boat, even remember the stellings exhaust. I believe it got sold for under or around 20k, bc i remember seeing it and not jumping on it, and it was sold. The powertrain was worth 20k all day. Anyhow, I believe bob's boat ran in the 80's speed wise.

Heres a issue with the older SR-1 boats, mainly the bigger ones. Formula did not bond the deck and hull together with fiberglass. They used glue and screws. The decks end up flexing quite a bit. 357's are known for deck flexing in heavy seas, and my 402 SR1 had lots of deck flexing.

I think you are on the right track with the SSM drives dude....

PS, my 402 SR-1 ran 70mph on gps consistantly with 600HP mills. Best ever was 73. boat was a barge.
