Silver boats rule - New Fastech scheme

A new 353 with 525's to go in-water at the Mercury area at the Miami Boat Show. I would have left the cabin door all silver to match the dash, but, hey - its really sharp!

Don't get me wrong but Formula needs to step up with the times, they need to change the top deck..It has looked the same since 92?? I think if they molded in a wind screen that looks like the windshield it would look better.. |
agree its too high
|
Great looking boat. Factory looks a little slow....
|
agreed...the windshield should be less pronounced. make it sleeker and have a lower profile.
|
Windshield turns me off everytime....I don't even consider it a powerboat style boat with that windscreen looks kinda goofy and "cruiser-ish".
|
Sweet looking boat, but dash and interior has to be all white.
Not into buying new anymore, too much depreciation when you drive it away. |
Very nice but....
A Red fiber dash panel and a lower sleek windshield would look a little better. |
It looks perfect to me, except for the dash that for some reason looks a little boring, but maybe it looks better in real life.
I personally like the styling of the windshield. I think the height and angel is perfect, but I just wish it would offer better wind protection. |
IM IN LOVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
makes me want to repaint my boat! The only thing i would say would be some trim rings on the dash something to spice it up to your own color pref's. If i had the coin for paint i would take those pics and my boat to a painter and just say go! well minus the red i hate red. |
IMO... I prefer the windshield over the windscreen hands down. I personally loved it when Fountain added the windshield as an option to their fever lineup . It gives the boats better lines. Plus, I can run at night and not have to pick dead bugs out of my teeth when I get back to the dock.
I like how Formula carried the deck graphics into the cabin door. I agree need some red & black carbon fiber dash panels or something up front. Not a fan of the entire cockpit being silver either. |
awesome, I'd love to own and name it "silver bullet"

I guess you can order the boat also without windshield if that is what you want
|

doubt very much you can get a fairing from Formula, if you could I would have one!
Maybe in these times they should tool some up and offer it in their factory refitting program. But the windshield is OK On that boat I would have gone with all silver interior. A mix of straight and carbon fiber look silver vinyl with very subtle color tied to the paint in red continuity and balance throughout the appearance you know? |
I still like the lines of the fastek too. They need to find a better spot for that Garmin antenna though, that looks hideous.

Wind Fairing
Formula definitely needs to offer a wind fairing in lieu of a windshield. The few boats I've seen with the wind fairing option look better in my opinion. If you paint the wind fairing to match the boat paint scheme it looks awesome! Come on Formula, give us some options.
That being said. WOW!, still a nice product. |

Hey...
My boat is way older than the silver one, but the windshield set-up was always the one thing that always bugged me about the Formula design. Since I'm doing a full total resto on my 292 boat, here is what I came up with for a fairing. The two boats do have a similiar topside hull design. Since this pic last week, the project has been completely sanded and primed, ready for blocking out... IMO the silver boat would be awesome with a low fairing instead of the windshield! |

Not sure if Vic is still involved but if he is, you need to talk to him.

Vic is now working with Cigarette. This boat will be at the Mercury in-water display. If you want a ride, I suspect that you'll have to speak with a Formula rep at either their in-water or convention center displays. I don't know if the Mercury guys will have any say-so on rides.

I can't believe you actually like silver Fastechs :party-smiley-004: That is one of the best looking Formula's I have seen. I agree the fairings look cool, but I'll take my windshield(peeking thru it in a down pour) anytime. |
This boat is beautiful, I love the windshield. I to have been caught in some rain an been able to duck behind the windshield. I hope they sell a few in Miami.
|
when you boat in the northeast a windshield is a must,
|
I wonder how much,Is it at least less than a Nortech
|
What a brilliant marketing strategy for the new FX4,5,6 SS line. I see what Formula is doing....Using the Fastech heritage and sex appeal...their paint scheme and choice of colors which flow throughout the carpet along with the small details really will be a great selling tool for the FX line...Way to go Formula! Just my two cents.

Thanks Don,
Nice 292! |
