Ummm, little issue....step plates showed up, look great, etc....but....they've been in the box since Friday and when I checked this AM they still hadn't polished themselves....WTF?

My advice is to get a 6 pack of your favorite beer or other adult beverage, an assortment of wet or dry sand paper from 600 to 2500 grit, along with a tube of Bengay and a bottle of Advil to calm the aching joints.

I'm not ready for mine yet, so I'm going to put some 1200 grit sandpaper in the FedEX box with the plates and put them in my trunk for about 3 months. Should be all ready when I pull them out. :drink::drink:

Hey guys! Here are the pictures of the step plates along with some other upgrades that I have done. My friend Tom "IDCE" did the remote install for the stereo along with added speakers a new deck and blue led's in the cockpit of the boat and ocean led's on the back.

$50 and what as a tip????

turboz67 05-30-2011 10:03 PM

He asked for fifty, I gave him an extra $20.00 to get it done sooner

5PMSMWHR 05-31-2011 03:27 AM

I am definitely in if this guy can do the polishing. I actually boated with Axa this weekend, drank beers, talked about sandpaper, and they still didn't get polished. Please ping your guy, I've got $75 and a fedex number, thanks.

Here's the pictures of mine, they look great. Billet grab handles and the stainless inserts for the cup holders are next.

Polishing wasn't bad. About 2 hours each.

I have never sanded or polished aluminum. By reading past threads on the subject, internet research and trial and error, I finally figured it out. I purchase a 6" table top buffer, 220, 400, 800 and 2000 grit sandpaper. If I ever polish aluminum again, I could probably cut the time in half to 2 hours per plate.

axapowell 07-15-2011 08:27 PM

Looks awesome!!

Nice upgrade.

Dave

PhantomChaos 01-26-2012 06:04 PM

axapowell 02-07-2012 08:23 AM

Let me check it out.

PhantomChaos 02-13-2012 01:10 PM

Crap......I've only got 2-3 interests. Is that enough?

axapowell 02-13-2012 02:21 PM

Plus the Sandy Pond interest, will need a few more. I'll see what kind of pricing we're talking about.

Dave

Wild Cherry 02-14-2012 09:02 PM

Hi Guys, could possibly be interested, depending on the price?

DwaterDave 02-16-2012 02:11 PM

I'm interested as well.....what kind of money we talkin?

axapowell 02-16-2012 09:51 PM

I'll check when I get back from Florida next week and see what the cost would be and if they will even do a small run. Look here for an update.

Dave

kreed 02-21-2012 07:18 AM

UPDATE 2/21/2012:

Spoke to the machine shop today and they are willing to do a short run of at least 6.

Here's the deal: They are really backed up with projects that will produce some serious income, so they have to make those ahead of us a priority. I understand that and I know it takes time to get all of the orders done here and payment received. 6-8 weeks before they can start them, so end of April to begin production. I would hope for a June delivery, but cannot promise that. I know they will give it their all and make them the best quality as they have in the past.

Price is going up by $5.00 to $390 per set UNPOLISHED. It does not include the handles or cup insert.

Please carefully read the thread so you know what you are getting. I do not want any surprises and either do you!

So far I have:

Nort 2 or 3 sets
Wild Cherry 1 set
Dwater Dave 1 set
pondrunner 1 set
kreed 1 set
Formula factory 1 set (demo at my expense)

That gets us to the minimum they will produce. Before I make the commitment to the machine shop, as before, I will need prepayment. The sooner I get your money, the sooner we will get on the list for production.

PM me with a commitment and I will respond with an address to send the check.

Thanks All!

Dave

LOL......the leaky cap guy told me that he replaced his steps last year. :evilb::evilb:

axapowell 03-01-2012 09:10 AM

To all:

This appears to be the last run for me on these step plates. It looks like Formula may be purchasing these from me and will be selling them as an option. I spoke with Kyle Porter yesterday and he feels as though they MAY purchase several sets for new production and for sale as an option.

That being said, I don't know what Formula's pricing will be, but this may be the last chance to get these direct from me. Still need commitments.

Dave

Sin_or_Swim 03-01-2012 09:46 AM

Maybe I should buy a set now; I know sooner or later I will own a fastech.

PhantomChaos 03-01-2012 05:21 PM

Hurry up before I do this myself! :)

axapowell 04-25-2012 08:48 AM

Update 4/25/12

Going into production real soon, should know today when that will be. Formula would like a set before their June photo shoot, so I'm going to try and push my machine shop.

Last chance to get in:

PhantomChaos for 2 sets
Pondrunner
Kreed
Formula Factory
Enticer Rick (Check your pm)

Let me know by the end of the week.

Thanks all!

Dave

Dave

Thanks for the list. I forgot I was getting two sets. I'll send another check. :evilb::evilb::evilb: How many is Formula buying?

axapowell 05-01-2012 05:39 PM

Nort, ignore the pm I just sent you...didn't see this yet!

Thanks! Formula is in for one set to review, then they will place a real order. We just made the minimum with the machine shop. I dropped of payment today and they will start the end of this week or the beginning of next week.

Thanks all!
Dave
