In the beginning our goal I believe was to double the turn out from last year. If we got 20+ boats then I would consider this a huge success.

Tom and I truly appreciate everyone's support and dedication to the brand. We hope that everyone will be able to make it, but know that things do pop up last minute. We know you'll be there in spirit. We look forward to meeting and getting to know everyone. Hopefully make a few new friends.

Thanks Again!

JB- Let us know where you will be staying. Tom and I will make an effort to stop by when you get down. Or like he said, meet at Latitudes or Captains Inn Dock Bar.

J.B. Marshall 07-06-2011 09:12 PM

Guys I will be staying at Key Harbor Marina.

That's pretty much where I grew up. The marina back in the day was probably the best on the bay. It use to be called Shore Marine then Bayview Yacht Basin and some others along the way but back then it was a Sea-Ray dealership and we were the only ones with a Formula :lolhit: The restaurant is byob and supposedly pretty good from what I hear. I have yet to check it out for some reason just never get around to it or forget about it being there. It's all safe in there and has nice slips with clean bathrooms. They use to have a tennis court, pool, marine store etc. but i'm not sure if it's all still the same.

Nice place. I looked into their high and dry storage, but was looking to save a few bucks this year.

J.B. Marshall 07-07-2011 08:13 PM

We have stayed there in the past and the owner treated us pretty good, so we are happy to go back.
It would be great if we could hook up Friday, i look forward to it. Now just keep your fingers crossed for good weather & calm seas :drink:

Weathers looking good so far. Cold front moving through about mid week bringing cooler less humid weather with it.

Splitdecision271 07-09-2011 06:54 AM

For those who are thinking of attending who have a VHF, we'll be monitoring Channel 68 all day.

Also, you can find our exact location simply by looking for the blue & white Formula Flag we will be flying.

Expensive Date 07-12-2011 10:32 PM

Went through there Sunday there was one 292 anchored was that any of you guys?

J.B. Marshall 07-13-2011 10:02 AM

The weather looks to be fanstastic at this time for the weekend. I am looking forward to the trip down and meeting up with everyone on Sat. What time do you all suggest I arrive at Tices so I don't get boxed out of trying to get into the raft off, sounds like it can get pretty jammed up in there.

JB

I.D.C.E. 07-13-2011 04:35 PM

JB Brian 292, Cindy 40pc and i will be out there approx 10am. Show up around then i would like you to get in there with your boat. We are setting up the fastechs together facing the island with anchors out the bow and thd PCs facing bay with anchors out bow and have about a 20 ft area between the two rows and connect with lines from the sterns. It will be easy and really improve the way we can all mingle. We are going out early to start it all off and give people the idea of where we want everyone.

On Friday night if you are around we are most likely grabbing drinks at Lattitudes.

Btwdid you ever get in touch with Benn Diss? Is he up for the run down again?

J.B. Marshall 07-14-2011 09:25 AM

I.D.C.E sounds good for Sat, should arrive 10 ish. No I did not hear from either Ben Diss or Chris. Not sure if I will be able to join you at Lattitudes on Fri as I am not all that familiar with navigating the bay and it's canals.

Its really cake to get to because its on the Forked River. If you have a chart or plotter just look it over. As you leave point head north up the bay run to the BI (blinky) marker then to the BB (blinky) make a left head WEST and those are the markers for Forked River and Latitudes is up on the right about 5 mins. The River is all no wake and well marked.

Thanks, that looks easy enough, I do hope you mean West up the Forked River :) Do they have plenty of docking and for a 38'

J.B. Marshall 07-14-2011 01:59 PM

Never mind about the docking at Latitudes, I checked out their website, looks to be plenty of room.

I.D.C.E. 07-14-2011 02:03 PM

Ha yeah whoops west. You have plenty of parking there and they don't get too crazy. To make it easy for you, you can park in the lift well right next to the restaurant at night so you will have plenty of room. Everythings well marked on the bay and there's limited turns so you will be fine.

My parents with a 312 fastech, Brian and his gf with his 292 fastech and my fiance and I will be there on my 26PC. Figured we can invite whoever would like to get together for cocktails and some grub on the water before the event.

I.D.C.E. 07-14-2011 02:33 PM

Tomorrow evening there will be a few of us meeting up for some cocktails and grub at Latitudes on the Forked River as a little pre-Rendezvous if anyone would like to join. Approx 8:00PM - Pretty good spot to watch the sun go down also!

Here's some more info (yes there's plenty of safe dockage) -

What a great day out there. No crabs this time around, but that wind sure made for an interesting ride home. We hope to see ya'll soon. Concert @ Tices on the 30th!!??

J.B. Marshall 07-18-2011 08:54 AM

It was a great trip for us, no issues down & back. We really enjoyed rafting up and meeting everyone. Tom thanks for your help on getting this put together. To bad the wind had to break us up, the bay sure did get choppy, but it was fun to run in :)
