The "Cabin"

The boat gained 500 RPM by removing the spacer , that the previous ownner used for what reason ever

I am not doubting you run 80 , I was just saying your rpm is way too high, your running over 20% slip ..
Get that slip down and you may run even faster!

I still think it is possible. pokerrunboats, how about some gps shots while running?

Also, back in the day didn't the single engine 292 just like this win an offshore championship for the year in its class? Can't remember the year, but remember reading about it somewhere.

Might be possible the F-class formula boats are fast. These F-1 boats are not layed up production 292's so we aren't just subtracting cabin/rigging weight...it is much like the 382s(kevlar hulls) which I am pretty sure were hovering around 90 with 500s and 82mph out of a set of 496ho's! Plus all the factory racing boats (both 292's and 382) all have way different CG's and dash positions from production boats. See below on information on the 382 f-2 for comparison.

"For a brief moment it looked like F2 was going 496HO in 2005, so the dealer suggested this package. I never planned to race the boat and went ahead with the 496HO/XZ package. The result was outstanding and affordable for pleasure use (80+MPH on black Mercury power). With the former 470hp package the same boat will run 84+MPH and with 525s (or Whipples on the 496HOs) it will run 94+MPH. My only problem is that I didn't have time to use the boat (30 hours in four months) due to my business travel schedule... reluctantly I put it up for sale and it went quickly"

Just an observation, but in the video it sounds like it is not opened up until the 13 second mark, so likely not topped out at 80 mph going by the camera.

Need more fly-by video!
