Default 292 Fuel filter question

I have an 2007, 292 with 350 MAGS. I'm changing the fuel filters which are located in a "canister". Do I need to totally shut the fuel off.....or can I shut the batteries off, and unplug the fuel pump and then just unscrew the top of the canister and remove the filter?

Anyone know where the fuel shutoff for both engines are???? Do they exist????

I am assuming you have the "cool fuel" setup like the 6.2s?And the filters are in the same housing as the pumps?
If so just shut the engine off and you will be fine. There are two, the disc and the cartridge. There might be a little pressure when you first unscrew the lid but thats normal.

Gotcha. I actually just found and old thread by someone who did a nice writeup with pics.

How often do you guys change the filters???? I see they aren't to cheap! $75 bucks a kit.....OUCH!

From what I've read.....seems like most people "inspect" them on a yearly basis but don't change EVERY year. Thoughts????

Think $75.00 is a lot price out the fuel pump(s) Which by the way are discontinued and you have to by the whole block. Its about $800.00.
The discs are more prone to clogging if the canister filter is clean upon inspection you could just change the discs.

I usually check mine every June, run a few tankfuls thru so any dirt in the tank from the winter gets stirred up.
