Default Getting rid of my Silent Thunder Exhaust

Question......

I want to get rid of my silent thunder exhaust system on my 98 312. I'd like to add the slated exhaust tips. Is this project really as easy as dropping the silent thunder system and then bolting the tips on? Also.....I'm looking at getting the tips from Rex marine with the flapper inside it. Do I need to worry about any blow back ?

Is there a nicer exhaust tip out there ?

Thanks in advance for any help! I'm sort of a rookie when it comes to this stuff....

its pretty simple. just remove the bolts from the silent thunder and it drops right off. we vouched for the $10 a piece rubber flappers. they are cheap and you cant see the exhaust while the boat is in the water anyways. you will need a marine grade silicon to fille the holes that the bolts leave. hope that helped. btw the exhaust tips are 4" in dia.

I dropped mine on the same boat (98 312). I was going to replace the tips but there are 1 inch tips already under there. I cleaned them up the best I could and clamped rubber flappers over them (which covered the whole tips).

it is as easy as it sounds. I did it by myself but a 2nd set of handss would have made holding/unbolting alot easier.
