Think we ingested some sand in the 292...Whats the easiest and quickest fixes? I know we are proably going to replace the impellar. Any tricks to flushing out the thermostats or manifold areas? I think we have the flush kit on our boat. Any suggestions are appreciated. Need the boat running in top shape for tomorrow. Thanks.

Pulll the water hoses off one at a time, and with a running water hose, and something to push/scrap/un jam the sand cela out all the hoses IF you have sand in everything all the way tot he thermostate i would be VERY suprised. thats a long way fromt he empellar and stuff get clogged before you can pump that mch up ther but take a look at it to make sure.

and new empellar.

Also if you do not have good water preasure it is hard to back flow the system. Like Mittens said take the hose off up by the T-stat and look for sand. Then putt he hose that goes into your water pump into a bucket. Keep back flowing tell there is no more sand coming out. You can also kink the hose and let the kink go to kind of surge the water through the hoses and try and dislodge stuff. Good luck!

its posible to have sand int he block and you can trye pulling the blue t plugs but most likly you did not get it past the thermostat if to it

Pull the drain lines off the block on each side and use a small pick or screw driver to make sure the holes are open as well.
I have found sand in that area as well in the past.

Dont freak but if once you have flushed everything and start running the boat again, if you see your temp gage drop all the sudden and it will not go above 130-150, you most likely have a piece of sand stuck in the T stat.
Once i had to pull the T stat to get the grain of sand out and the last time it happened, I just opened the throttles for about a mile and it passed thru and temps went back to normal.

Being that we back up to beach areas and get into 3' of water where the sand gets kicked up, I usually pull the lines and check the block drains once a month or so just to make sure.

My block drain hoses have a grey push clip on them so I have to push the hose on more, push the clip in and them pull it off.
