Default Water Pressure Gauges

I'm going to be installing water pressures gauges on my 382. I'm trying to decide on the best place to mount them. Suggestions?

Installed mine on the top of the intake. Easy for winterizing.

For lack of a better idea, I installed mine on the fiberglass side coamings just in front of the rear seat kick panel. No room left on the dash, but wanted to have quick access to see them if I noticed a temp guage starting to climb.

I installed mine in the engine compartment on the rim below the hatch facing forward above the motors. not a lot of room but they fit along with hour meters. cant seem to figure out how to attach pic.
if you want I can email to you, just PM me.

In my opinion, water pressure gauges are THE most important gauges to see while you are running. Mine have saved me from potential damage more than once. You'll notice the water pressure dropping well before you see the water temp start to climb. I can't imagine hiding them where you have to go through gyrations to see them.

I installed mine in the center of the dash between the water temp and volmeter gauges. (My boat did not have a dash-mounted GPS.)

Mine won't fit on the dash. I need to get creative with some angled Bezels.

I'd just replace the oil temp gauges. Oil temp will track with water temp.

I've seen 419's with additional gauges mounted on the flat surface just in front of the panel to the right of the steering wheel. Use an angled bezel and you just need to mount so the dash won't hit them when you flip it up for servicing. Can't remember when I saw them, but did. I think you may also be able to move your stereo remote and fit them on the side panel with your trim switches. I run the water pressure gauges on my Fountain and they have saved overheating more than once. Fountain measures the pressure at the power stearing cooler (raw water pressure) mounted on rear of my 496 HO's. I agree with C Spray, they are one of the most important gauge, especially if you are running CMI exhaust. These gauges will insure you don't run the exhaust hot which will cause them to crack and then problems will insue. Good Luck (Also, not jumping forums, I also own a 1997 419 Fastec!!!!!)

Get rid of that GPS and put them there. It totally slows your boat down anyway!
