I know what you meant. The lines attached to the front of the lift are attached to the rear of the boat. The knots are the pre-determined distance that I want the boat on the lift. Pull on the lift, loop the lines around the rear cleats, pull the boat forward with the lines until the knot reaches the cleat, and hit the lift pump switches.Flush motors, wash boat, cover, crack a beer.Repeat last step until all this crap seems like its worth it. Happy Holidays.:drink:

Here is a 353 Fastech on a Sunstream Floatlift

The FL 13 will also work great with the 382

I went from a 311 to a 353 and used the same bunks ....24* and I think about 35" apart ....the 353 steps are 1.25" and we took 2x6's and plained em down to the 1.25" ....I think the rear step was like 7'1" from the transom ..I think we went 7'7" foward and mounted the first 1.25" board and ran it forward 6" shy of the next step ...then mounted the last 1.25" board ...fits perfect ....as stated you just need to mark where the boat sits on the lift ...with the 6" margin it works pretty good ...... so my bunks are just on the angled part of the hull .....if you wanted to add more support you couls add another set on the outside flat section ....on a trailer you would need it for sure but on the lift the two 6" bunks have worked well for me .....m
