Any updates this Summer? I was wondering how well your rig runs now that you've had time to sort it out.

I had all the kinks worked out within the first 6-8 hours of run time. I now have 43 hours on the meter. It cruises 45-55mph effortlessly. I have had it up to 73mph. Run outstanding and it is turn key reliable. Super awesome mill. The 242 is a super fun boat with 570hp. It is also thirsty. I checked once my fuel economy with my GPS. Got 1.26mpg. I never checked it again.

Sounds great !! You have engineered a very well balanced, fast and comfortable package with that 242. If you're like me...once you hit 60~65 you start wishing you had 10' more of boat under you !!!

My 255 with twins putting 800 plus Horsepower in the water runs 60~65 at about 3500 RPM and I'm not into the secondaries yet !! If I nail it from 60 it gets scary real quick. I guess in my advancing years I'm getting comfortable in cruising 45~55 at less than 3000 RPM.

I Love the old "Flat Glass" boats...something classic and timeless about the lines. I recently had the opportunity to take a '85 F-302 out that has twin 500 Horsepower 6.0 LS motors on Bravo III drives. In talking to the owner...he figures he saved 500 LBs in swapping out the 330 TRS set up and since he was able to move the engines back about 14" because of removing the transmissions, he was able to put a 3.5KW Generator transversely in front of the motors. So he now has full A/C with shore power and the generator...very sweet. He has a full stand up canvas/Eisenglass enclosure and he can run 45~50 with full cabin and cockpit A/C !! With the top down and 26" props on the Bravo III's it runs 75 at 4500 RPM !!

There's a lot of potential in these old boats !!! Have fun with yours...it's a nice one !!

That boat has now been crushed. The good news is I bought the low windshield off of it. My 242 will now have every option from formula.
