Yeah one of mine has an alternator and power steering on the same motor. Ive only had it 2 months so she still needs alot of work but the motors purr. havent taken it out yet to actually try them on the lake but have ran water through them and they seem to run good. luckaly enough mine has the 4" closed cooling system. ive heard kinda bad things about the 3" system they put on earlier models.

I had a 25' wellcraft nova with tow of those and they were pretty good, nice power for the size.

I've been tempted several times to go look at this one.

1973 F-26...the flagship Formula of that era. These boats have a 9'-6" beam and weigh 10000 lbs. They have a HUGE COCKPIT and ride like a cloud. I had a friend in Homestead that had one of these in the late 70's with twin 260's/Merc No 1 drives. It would run 50 "balls out" with 1/4 tank of gas and 2 aboard....40~45 forever with 6 aboard and a full tank. We used to SCUBA off of his and it was great.

You put a pair of strong SBC's on Bravo 3's with this one you would have a great package.

One project at a time...!!! DAMN IT ALL.

I'm not a Formula owner, but stumbled across this thread. These are beautiful, timeless boats. Very few boats can hold their looks like this after so many years.

Lol! Yep, she is fun and a sleeper, especially in the early days. The stock 330HP didn't stay stock very long. In my younger days I drag raced cars and built engines. We pulled the engine, new pistons, bumped the compression, worked the heads, new intake, carb, through transom exhaust, worked with Ultradyne on the cam selection, roller rockers, etc..

Came across this 1985 272 LS for $9500 in Minnesota. Ad says it needs a coupler. The short Mid West season in almost on you guys up there...this is an easy weekend fix on a nice 272 if you are looking.
