Default Re-Painting the Imron Graphics

The Imron graphics on my 242SS have picked up some scratches and various wear marks over the years.

I was thinking at some point that I would want to re-paint them, and maybe enhance them a bit.

Here is a pic of the boat and the graphics (mostly stripes)

Would the basic masking of each color area and fine sanding be adequate prep for spay painting? Do you think I could apply the paint with a foam roller to reduce the amount of masking and over-spray protection needed with spray painting?

I did some searching, but did not come up with any threads along the lines of what I am planning. Thanks for any advice on a DIY Imron re-paint.

gonna have to mask everything and spray, want to take the easier way out, have a decal guy make em up, you would be amazed, I may do that myself as like you I have a predominately white boat with teal/black stripes, some of my teal has scratches that bother me,

+1 haha (no offence to the OP)

Go to a local autobody jobber and see if you can get some plastic to cover and some tape. They should be able to mix you any colors in small sizes (8oz 16oz etc). You can use pretty much any quality single stage urethane not just Imron. Most will go over 400-500 grit paper amd a red scuff pad. Clean it with alcohol and make sure to use a tack rag.

Oh, alright, I'll spray . . . but maybe I'll put it off until next year. Too much of a project for this year.
