33 SS with 454 mpi??
#1
looking at an 01 22 ss with twin 454 mpi. wondering what kind of speeds this boat will run.
cruz speed at the 3,000-3400 mark and top end would be great.
also fuel usage would be great.
any issues with these motos that anyone knows of, or anything i should look at for problem areas on the boat when i go to look at it?
fresh water cooled motors.
thanks, noyzee

mine ran 56 on the speedo not gps, bottom paint, 1999w7.4 mpi. it works for me now, as far as fuel goes not bad. Way better than a 07 28 sea ray w /350s Fill up to fill up used less running side by side. Good overall boat, everyone ends up on it because there is so much room.

im going between 2 boats now, one with 454 mpi and one with 6.2 in it. both are close in price. 454 have less hours and fresh water cooled, 6.2 boat is raw water and has over 300 florida salt water hours. leaning towards the fresh water, fresh water cooled, no bottom paint boat with 454
i will bottom paint it, but i like the fact that i could start off with a clean bottom and one layer of paint my own way??

I agree, go with fresh water one. 454's, less hours, no salt!
I am redoing an older boat that saw salt. Other than the benefit of it helping preserve the wood if wet, it stinks! I am replacing both motors, both outdrives and one transom assembly. other than that, no problems!
Fresh all the way next time....
