I have been thinking about it more and I have decided I really don't need twins. If there was a super clean boat at an unbeatable price I would have to consider it. But where I boat and what I'm going to do with it, a single would be better.

I have an 88 242 LS that I have listed off and on this year.
11K. It is in Utah though. It has around 450 original hours. 454 365HP Mag w/177 Weiand Blower pushing 4 lbs boost. I boat at 5,100'-7,660' so it basically compensates for lost power from altitude. Blk, Mauve, Terq (Miami I think they call it) I'm the 3rd owner. Captains not Bolsters, Single controls not duals. Great Shape always stored in covered storage.

I just want to say thanks to everyone who has responed to this thread with information and leads. I haven't bought a 242 yet, but I am stronly considering a few. When I find the right boat I am ready to buy. I have found a few that will work, but they are far enough away that I am hesitating because of time and transportation costs. I still havent found exactly what I want, but I'm not giving up. If I find exactly what I want I am willing to travel a distance to get it, but I figure I don't want to spend the extra travel money to get "almost" what I want.

Take your time, be patient, it will come up, the fact that your willing to travel is a big plus for me i was willing to do missouri and east, just because alotta formula's at loto.

There was a CLEAN 223 that was sold locally up that way recently. I know of a couple 242's up there but don't think many are for sale. Honestly if you are set on a clean 242 that is pretty rare I would see if the black SR-1 down in CT is still around. I can check it out if you want as I spent a bit of time around 242's and have know the difference between mint and junk (one of the cleanest 242's out there used to be up on the river). Where on the river you located?

I also agree wait it out and if possible wait for a CLEAN 90/91. They have some different options and changes that the earlier boats didn't have which were nice touches. Nothing that I would say would be a deal breaker or worth more in price but if looking at equivalent boats go newer.
