Default 400 ss LEDs

Last summer I replaced navigation lights with LEDs. Thinking of tackling all cockpit and cabin lights. Anyone complete this project? Approx cost? Correct LEDs hard to figure out?

What size bulbs you use with the navigation lights? Wedge base bulb correct?

Can't speak for the SS's but the Fastech's had majority 1142 BA15 dual contact bayonet base bulbs. I replaced 3 of those with an LED bulbs. Two in the side gunnels and one under dash at the helm. I would assume they share materials like that across models.

Now the courtesy lights along the floor, those were a mini wedge base bulb.

Can easily have your entire cockpit done for under $100 easily. And it's really as simple as plug and play. Hardest part is picking out which bulb to go with, you have a big variety to choose from.

Nav lights were replaced with large expensive LEDs with a base that matched previous bulbs removed...were not wedge but the push in, turn, then they lock into place. 4 to 5 bulbs required for 400 ss and each LED was at least $20.

Really?

That's a lot different then mine. I guessing they are VDO guages then. Eacb guage on my has it's own light. It's just a wedge base bulb.

I have replaced every light on my 400ss with LED. I upgraded a lot of the housings to newer models.

I would be glad to help with any info I can.

I also added a TON of new LEDs to the boat.

I probably have 10k+ in LED lights added now to the boat... it looks more like a spaceship at night now. NO chance of anyone not seeing me on the water at night.

YES! That is my crazy boat!! hahah

I am a techy freak and love projects, so I have added more wire to this boat than anyone coudl probably dream.

I switched ALL the lights in the boat to RGB led. The only thing that remains are the lights in the dash.

I ran brand new wire to all the lights and have some of them in different zones for various control.

I would be glad to help or share anyway I can... just ask!
