GMC Sierra 2500 Duramax
Formula 400ss

I can hear the flamers already. You need a Semi. I'm fine!

FYI - I have pulled my 303 with an '11 1500 chevy... it works for short distances. Just remember that loaded on the trailer its about 10-11k lbs according to the scale at the truck stop. I've seen a high of 11,900 lbs full of fuel, water, and a weeks worth of food and beer. :eekdrop:

I pulled it home from CT with an '09 F-150 with all the towing goodies. It was rated at 11k lbs capacity or so. It did fine.

Artie, thanks for the info the biggest tow would be getting it home ideally like to use my dads 350 but hes having some issues. so mine might have to do if deal were to go down, i only to about 1 mile or so except for winter storage and one trip a year.

To be 100% honest, it does what it's supposed to do, and very well. Never once have I felt or been in a situation where I thought I could have used more power.

I used to tow it with a 2000 2500 HD and this 1500 I think blows that truck out the water. Very happy with my decision. The 6.2L in these trucks are beast, I only have the 5.3L, def. recommend the 6 speed with external trans cooler.

Hhhhmmmmm, interesting.
Im not one to roast some one but how far of a tow with that setup? And what gear ratio?
I've wondered about my 06 LBZ 3500 with 3:73 gears towing a 400SS with a hardtop.

I would really think it would be fine...I see more weight than a boat being pulled around by these trucks nowadays by farmers and such...i have seen duramax's pull CAT 432D's (roughly 19-20 thousand pounds not including trailer)....granted they are goosneck not bumper but still
