Default my 272 sr1 500hps??????

i just put 500hp in this boat and have 25p props on it now and running 80 on gps at 5200 rpm what should i do to get more mph what props should i run to hit the sweet spot.

nice numbers, you need to talk to rattlesnakejake he hs a Buddie running big power in a 272 with similar numbers

That's great speed, and very little slip, 272's came with 25p mirage props when powered with 330's. Maybe a set of 4 blade 26 bravo 1s for best all around, or 27 mirage plus for top end?

Wicked I have a 272 with small blocks no where near 80mph but it's still a fun boat!!!!

yes this boat is awesome now and its prob like one of the cleaniest around with all original besides the motors of course.. but thanks i need to know what to try on it to ensure i dont waste money on props of course. I wanna c if i just borrow some around here so now i know what to ask for thanks

There was a 272 on Long Island 5-6 year ago with 500's that I looked at and then another guy here locally bought. I don't know him but talked to him one day. Said it was propped for top end and squeezed 84 out of it but getting on plane and mid range made the boat a PITA to use. He said he re-propped it so it was a pleasure to run and still topped out at 78. Unfortunately this was a couple years ago and I never asked what props he was running.
