Now, when it is in the water, I do not want to think about that! YIKES! :eekdrop:

I have no idea, have seen numbers all of the place. But since this the internet, let me throw out some numbers as if they are factual to satisfy my ego, we will see if I am even close.

WOT will be in the 1.5 to 1.8 mpg range, or 35 to 40 gallons per hour.

Cruising will be in the 35 to 40 mph range and will run from 1.8 to 2.4 mpg depending on the sweet spot, so 15 to 23 gph.

Lets get someone with some real information here and see what they say :lolhit:

Glad I could help in my mind :thankyouthankyou:

Brian..you are close ...in fact with the twin 260's in my 255 that's about what I got. I could run from Ft. Lauderdale to Bimini (about 60 Miles) in my 272...run around all day over there and come back with about 20 gals to spare when I got back. Most of the time I would make the crossing running between 40~45. With the 255 I can run about 35 at 3500 trimmed out with 2 aboard and stay in the primaries of the carbs. Once I get over 40~45 I am at 4000 RPM or better and i'm into the secondaries...GULP GULP. That's part of the reason I'm going back with Mechanical Secondary Holly's so I can control the secondary opening.

If you're referring to that '87....$15 K is a bit out of his price range.
