Default 87 272 SR1 listed

Just re-listed my father's 87 272 SR1 twin SBC boat for him..

He had a deal pending last at the end of last season, that didn't pan out, so lss. the boat has been sitting in our climate controlled shop since... Just in the past couple weeks we got it back out gave her some soap & water, usual maintenance, fired both engines up on the hose, and now it's hanging under our dock ready to roll for the season.. I just renewed the add and left everything the same from the end of last season, because it is the same ;-)

The rig is a great, low maintenance ride that he's had for a long time now, just time for him to move on... Our shop is about 4-5 miles off of I-75, and about 25 min from the cabin, and it's already over there ready to roll... So if anybody's interested, best thing to do is pick up the phone & give him a call, and if you don't get him right away just leave a voice mail, or your welcome to drop an email (which will go to me), and I will do my best to answer any questions I can on my end, get them answered, or put you in touch with him..

I've not searched the forum around trying to shove a "sales pitch" ect.. ect.., just if some of you are like me, you check in on certain forums her & there as time allows and don't always check the latest classifieds, so thats why I tossed this thread up..

Thanks guys, Scott

Beautiful boat. I am currently saving for a 272 sr1 and hope to be there by next spring. Otherwise I would be driving to tennessee.

Did any of the small block 272s come with counter rotating drives? I know there is a counter roating alpha 1?

Scott, nice boat! Just bought this year a 2001 292 fastech but would have been very interested! I see 423 area code, does the boat sit at Norris?? We have a house at springs dock! I might have some interested friends, and will be down this weekend with 14 couples!

Here is a link to the ad for ya, nice ride, at a nice price. Is the trailer included? Aluminum, galvanized, or painted steel? What speed does it run?

Thanks for all the compliments.. The boat isn't perfect, but all and all a nice boat for a 25yr old classic ride.. I painted the blue on the sides a few years back, but the rest is original Gel & Imron

(pawdog75) The boat stays at Watts Bar lake during the summer, but funny you asked about Norris because he bought the boat (off the top of my head) around 12-13yrs ago off of a guy that kept it at Norris in the summer time.. We are in Athens TN which is halfway between Knoxville and Chattanooga..

Thanks for the link Rick ;-)... The boat has a triple axle steel Eagle trailer, with newer tires, and new carpet on the bunks, and is Included in the price.. As for speed I would say in the low 60's, which it may see 1-2 times a year..

Not sure exactly what year they started counter rotating some of the alpha's.. I could be wrong, but as far as I know they did not offer them in 87 with counter rotating alpha's

Very nice boat! If only I was looking this would be a great one! The CR Alpha's did not come out for a few years after 1987. I would think that unless they have been replaced then no they are not CR.
