Let's here it, how much do you use your Formula? How how has she held up?

There are quite a few "very low hour" boats for sale, from all kinds of manufactuers, some almost ten years old, kinda odd if you ask me. We use our boat, but we do all those little things like keep it very clean, have the drives removed every year and inspected, etc., etc.! I have 285 hours, she is a 2006, and still seems like new. The Formulas really age well, no fading/cracking, etc. 496HO engines don't miss a beat ever. Feels like she is almost good as new still.

A couple we run into on the lake occasionally have Carver with over 2,000 hours, original 454 engines still running like a top, hull still solid, etc. They have taken many trips. You can run boats, its OK!

425 hrs on my 382 and she is in mint condition but of course I am more annul than most and I don't spare any expense when it comes to maintenance or repair. Just replaced my original Bravo 1's with new X drives.

So Double Trouble, tell me how your SS performs with the 496 HO's. I am in the market looking for a 40 SS and was thinking the 40 would be underpowered with 496's.

700 on a 1995 with an engine refresh at 300 -- I'm due for another.

The 400 SS has to be one of the most versatile boats around. If you like to go fast, look for one with racing engines. If you put on a ton of hours and travel large distances, go for the diesels.

The 496HO's are a solid all around and proven engine. She likes to run around 37-42 mph, no matter if you have full fuel, 10 people, or whatever. (Though no hard top on mine which saves 1,000 lbs). Top speed is 50 mph.

My 400 SS is listed here in the classifieds, and on EBay. Plus I have a dealer willing to take it in trade. We are moving to a bigger and slower express cruiser of some sort sometime soon.

What kind of engine(s) do you have?

803 on my 87 thats only 32.12 hrs a year

Got mine in November last year, have not used it yet except to consume time and money. It has been flawless at that though!

692 hours on my 1986. This is it's 27th summer but it has zero hours this year and I do not think it had any last year. That is under 28 hours a year!

I remember looking at an 87 that sold before I got my 272. I think it had like 200 hours on it. It was less than 10 hours a year? How the heck does that happen?

I'm up to 247, bought her mem day with 213 hours, so right around 35 hours already..... 502/bravo's

I have a friend not on her with a 89 272 454/bravo's almost 1300 hours nothing touched, knock on wood for him...

leave em alone and they'll run forever......................

2000 382 with Volvo/Innovation 600's. 660 hours on the hull, 560 hours on each engine, with new valve springs at 400 engine hours. 12 seasons @ 55 hours each. Best purchase we ever made.

1005 on my '83 F-20. Valve covers have never been off of the old 260 merc.
