i have a 252 ls with a 454 mag. and bravo 3 the speed is a little slow 53 mph at 5000 with a set of 24 p props. would putting a bravo one on it with a mirage prop be a better set up then the bravo 3 for speed ? and if so how much faster would it be. thanks mike

Bravo 3 is for a better hole shot. Your top end would definitely be higher with a Bravo 1 with the right prop, but you won't get on plane as fast. As far as how much faster it will be.........I'm not too sure.

Holeshot with Bravo 1 isn't bad at all and the boat planes very easily, I don't know how much better it might be with a Bravo 3. I haven't really done any 'real' top speed testing, but seeing 63-64mph on GPS isn't uncommon with a couple of passengers and a quarter tank of gas. A difference of around 10mph with slightly less power and B3 sounds more than I'd expect, have you already checked that you're running on all cylinders (plugs, wires, rotor, distributor cap) ? How clean is the bottom?

What year 252 and what drive gear ratio?
I had a 98 252SS with 7.4efi and had 26P BIII and ran 56 GPS. Had great holeshot as we tubed and skied also with 8-10 people on board.
24P seems too low. I was at the upper end of the RPM but never over. I always had full fuel and 1/2 tank water and cleaned out head. kept lots of gear on boat and 2 coolers.
Best I could get WOT with me and my 5yr old
on board was 58 GPS still full fuel and 2 coolers as we would weekend on the boat.
