Is the 272 the same as a 242? I have a silent thunder I may remove. I was thinking I might go back too wood.

242 is single right? 272 is twin. Silent thunder wouldn't work. Unless its a twin 242

I built one last winter out of aluminum last winter to go under my old teak one for support that I will eventually fill in with more braces and powder coat and use when the teak gets to weak and won't refinish well any more !! I am looking for one. I have a 242SS, red,. I WANT a Silent Thunder Platform. Willing to trade for stock Red Platform. Let me know about that Silent Thunder for the 242 please.
I am also new to this forum. Picked up 242 SS 1987 454 MAG/330 Alpha One. Needs lotsa stuff corrected/fixed/refurbished nothing too big (yet) but always expensive to bring it to personal strandards/appointments.
