The original "Thunderboat Row". My 89 was built in Miami, when did the performance boat production move to Decatur?

1989...any thing built in Miami had a TNR prefix in the H/N. Decatur boats had a SGN prefix. After everything moved to Decatur, IN all of the H/N s changed to TNR. The SGN was for Signa Boat Company which was one of Vic Porter's original boat companies and were built in Decatur. The original Formula plant was on NE 188th in Miami but moved into a new plant at 144th and Biscayne Blvd. in the late 60's early 70's. Cigarette, Formula and Magnum were all next door neighbors on the South side of 188th and Apache was across the street at "Fort Apache".

There was a lot of boat testing in Dumbfounding Bay just South of the Lehman Causeway bridge. That whole area is all condos now. Cigarette was the last hold out and has a new first class facility over in Opalocka.

yeah first class facility that has people who get paid to answer emails but can't take 5 min to show a fanatic around..... Well unless you got enough to buy a new boat........

hey guys,

all i have to say is thank you James for your help , for your description on the boat, it was very accurate,i am more than happy with the purchase, i made it today at 5 pm after going thru a 3 hour traffic delay in Rhode Island , a tire blew out around north carolina at 3am (very cold ),trailer needed to be adjusted so ride down here wasnt smooth at all .
Again , James thanks for everything. When you come down here we will take care of you.Let us know.

John i also wanted to thank you for helping me make this happen, your experience was key in having a safe return, I tell you it wasn't easy but it is all worth it now.
