starting at post 81 on this link shows the placement of subs underneath the bolster seats pretty cool, on a 353 formula |
That is some pretty awesome custom work.
|
what i would like to do is keep the factory 6x9's (upgrade them) add 2 sets of the 7.7 jl's and 2 10 inch jl subs.
|
I had two 10s at the beginning of the summer, I went to 2 12"s and I am so glad I changed. Huge difference. I have mine under the back seat of my Sunny, sharing one box but I can't imagine our back seats are much bigger than yours.
Makes the water ripple from the hull, it's definitely getting the job done :) |
Anyone that is near their 353 that can tell me if you can fit 2 10 inch subs under the rear seat? I want to be able to still open the battery boxes.
come on people... little help. |
I have 292 when I put speakers under the rear seat . I took the hinge off the battery cover platfom and put in a piece of aluminum angle . Also but a strip of weather stripping to keep it from rattling, latch also held it in place . Works great
|
4 Attachment(s)
Original install by AudioFN. I had to replace the subs and everything last year but it all lasted 8 years. Hey....see that ladder? Now you don't! LOL

So I got a little carried away.
I kept the original valance/trim piece that goes behind bottom of bolster and custom made the pod for the speakers you see here. 12- JL 7..7 behind bolster and in bench. 2-JL 7.7 on dash 8-JL 7.7 in removable pods that I can place on the bow/dash or anywhere. 2- JL 12 W7 under rear bench I know it is more work, but the component speakers sound noticeably better than the coaxial. |

I did all Rockford in my boat. 4- 6.5 inch speakers, 4- 8 inch speakers, 1 -12 inch sub couple amps. We originally planned on doing 2 or 3 10 inch subs, but got a call from my guy and he said i can get you more than enough with 1 12 with the desighn of the box...he was right i turn it all the way down and it plenty. He also color matched everything powder coated the grills and did LED rings.

im thinking of leaving the factory 6x9's adding two pairs of 7.7's and 2 inch jl subs. power the 7.7's and subs by this amp ...http://www.jlaudio.com/mhd900-5-mari...plifiers-98226
think its enough? my concern is where to fit those 7.7's with out going to crazy with custom pods and such. |

So I take it you put them further towards the middle away from the battery compartment on the ends under the seat?
:D |
There has to be more than a few people with sound systems?!
|
Mine is being ordered. 4 mb quart 6.5s and 1 jl 10 sub. 2 amps and Sony head unit with wired and wireless remote. Not gonna win any competitions but should have a good sound that I can hear while out of boat.
|
my baja had 4 6x9's 2 subs and the 4 factory speakers (werent amped just off the head unit) and two amps one for the 6x9's and one for the subs and it was LOUD.
I'm thinking 2 pairs of the 7.7 jl's with 2 jl subs and their big digital amp to power it all... I just hope that will be enough |
Fastech 312 sound system
I'm new on this forum so this is my first post. I hope I can upload some pictures of the boat.
My system is installed on a 2001 fastech 312. I have 2 Kinetik batteries 3800 and 3 Kinetik 2400. They are charged by a CAE APS-75 Battery charger. The brain of the system is the Audison Bit one processor. The processor receives digital optical signal from the Eclipse 55090 DVD unit. Also receives digital coaxial signal from the Eclipse CD changer. The third signal that the processor receives is analog signal from a pioneer DEH-80PRS. To the pioneer head unit I can connect any kind of iPod, IPhone, IPad, usb cards. Petty much any type of audio source that I can connect via usb, also pandora from the iPhone. The amplifiers are 3 Alpine PDX-4.150 and one PDX-1.600. For highs I have 3 pairs of horn tweeters Selenium ST-350. For mids I used 2 pairs of Image Dynamics horns. For mid-bass I used a set of Digital Designs 6.5 midbass. For woofers I used 4 JL audio M10-IB5. And for Sub-woofer I made a ported enclosure for a Digital Designs 15" ref1515a. Also I installed a pair of JL audio M7.7 components. It sounds clean and loud. I couldn’t load the pictures but here are some: http://s1110.photobucket.com/user/da...02150244710913 |
geez these last two sound systems are a bit extreme for me!
I ended up going with clarion m502 head unit, mw1 wired remote. Two of the digital polk 5000 amps, two sets of polk 6.5's, one set of polks 5.1/4 and two polk subs. Install should be started soon. |

How soon before you get the Polks installed? I'm leaning heavily towards them myself, have heard good things so far, another positive review or two and I think I will be going with the polks. |
The guy was supposed to start today on the install... but weather here SUCKS right now so not sure. I heard great things as well, was originally going to do JL but they don't have many size options and were double the price. I bought all my stuff on ebay (brand new) just search the model number and save 50% on retail pricing.
