Default 292 or 302 purchase?? and the Winner is.......

I did it! I climbed on both boats and chose the 302 out here in California. Although I got great input from this forum on both boats, the 302 is best for us. I like the old school look, it has a bit more room in the cabin and as luck would have it, was a few k less than the beautiful 292.

It was surveyed two days ago. Insurance will be in place today. First place the 1986 F302 goes is Trail-Rite trailers to get the trailer cleaned up and dialed in. Then to Wilkes Marine for some TLC. I can't wait. Gonna have it dialed in before the first trip to Catalina Island! Great input from all of you.

The 1990 292 is still available in the Long Beach area. I checked it out. It's clean. I can re-post the link if anyone is interested.

Where do I get Formula decals etc?!!

Welcome "abird" (aboard with Formula accent lol).

Start decal search with google, then hold out for some members to reply back, lastly check with Formula.

Congrats, ebay has a good selection of formula emblems, that's where I got them for my father's 302 and my 242. Searayman is his ebay screen name...

I have lots of "Before" photos. Soon as I get some "After" shots and water shots I will post them. I have to say I,m thrilled with the filler cushion setup in the cabin for the kids. Cabin is really designed well.

any thoughts on upgrading the throttle controls. That's the only major updating I will do in the cockpit.

Great choice and welcome to the "family". The control thing is something I plan for my 255 as well. I'm thinking Livorsi with trim switches in the throttle handles. Once I get into it I'll share info.

I went with Eddie marine elite with trim switch in the handle. Still redoing all dash panels but here is the controls.

I don`t want to hijack this, but the last post ICU you have a new steering wheel on any problems mounting and getting it straight.
