Default 1985 Formula

Looking for an under 10K boat and found this one down by Fort Hood. Price seems to be a bit high for a 350, but what about the boats in general?

thats a 242ls, the price seems on par for what you might pay for that boat on a trailer in that condition.

Check this one out: http://www.boattrader.com/listing/19...42-LS-99971089

I think this guy is on something!!!!!

Holy crap, thought 7500 was high for a small block! So how are the boats in general? Do they hold up well and can they do at least 50+?

Overall they are great riding boats. I had mine for almost 6 years and have had tons of fun with it. I alway get a ton of compliments on the boat and people can't believe its an 86 when I tell them.

mine with the original 350 and 19p prop would turn 48mph on the speedo, when I put in a warmed over vortec roller 350 I got a best of 54mph with a 21 prop. Now when I did a bbc and bravo swap thats when I really picked up speed!!!!!!

Great boats...timeless styling...solid construction, best ride in the rough stuff. You get 50 easy enough with a single pre VORTEC...60 with a strong VORTEC..70 with A Big Block or 6.0-6.2 LS. I had the SS model and loved it. I'm restoring the predecessor to the 242..a 255 Liberator with twin Vortecs and Bravos. I love these boats!!

Big bang for the buck and you will get compliments where ever you go.. buy it and don't look back!!

I would not ever get a single engine small block boat ever again, takes too much to get them to move at all, you may be able to get over 50 out of them as I did, but still hard to plane and all that with bigger prop, go BBC you wont regret it
