What a personable guy. I introduced my self to him and explained that I was a 4 time Formula owner. He paused a moment as he shook my hand and said.."I am the one that should be introducing myself to you..." I'm Grant Porter...of Thunderbird Formula and I appreciate you brand loyalty and your appreciation of our products!"
I was humbled.
We talked about the industry and what's in the future for Formula. He explained that this show appears to be more performance oriented than they had realized...however they did have a 353 FasTech in the water at the in the water area of the show. It has the Ilmor 750 (Twin) configuration. The weather sucked today (Friday)...heavy rain, or I would have gone to see it. I think a 353 with that power may be the first production Formula to go triple digits.
As always...the 400SS, 370SS and smaller bow rider models were all of world class quality.
I was humbled.

I saw this article:
http://speedonthewater.com/new-boats...-fas3tech.html
There is a video of Bob Teague taking this rig thru it's paces in Government Cut in Miami...I have to find the link...too bad they didn't take it outside. They probably ran the test and took these pics on Thursday. The weather was beautiful that day and seas were running 2~4 from Jupiter inlet to Key Largo...would have been a great day to wring out in the Ocean!!
I have to say the 382 is still my favorite but I sure wouldn't walk away from from this 353!!
