I will sell my 272 for that and deliver it and might help you build a bigger garage!!!

as said above move on 88-92 242's are anywhere from 8500-18k for a petfect mint one he is on drugs, if your willing to.spend that much look for a 92-96 271 sr1 or even a 98-02 271 can be had for that

WAYover priced, my 242 is the nicest around, and I am not getting anything close to that.

The boat at best is worth $7500.
That seller can go burn another one. The same boat with a 454/Bravo is on Craigs here for under $10K. i drove it 60 and it was still pulling hard. $27K is a rape...receipts only verify that someone poured piss out of a boot...has nothing to do with value. If you want a sweet little formula that will fit in your garage check this one. http://boston.craigslist.org/gbs/bod/3660934277.html |

looks clean being a complete restoration. I took a look at the other options some of you posted and relize i can get more boat.. but i cant afford gas on a twin. im looking for somehing under 26 ft so i can fit it in my garage. ive been watching the classifieds, and every 242 i have seen is selling for 9- 18k. i talked to him on the phone and he said he has over 24k in receipts. he also said hes negotiable. my dad had a 242 and said they are one of the best older hulls you can buy.
With this in mind just because he has 24k in receipts doesn't mean he all the sudden has the highest value boat. Boats have a year and condition range that sets the price. Add to that a buyers market and prices are generally low right now. My personal opinion says I'd never spend more than 10-12 on a single engine mid 20s boat. I could be off but I wouldn't spend it. If I was willing to spend mid 20s I'd have a 30ish sr1 with twins. I spent less than 10 on my 272 as I know others have. Just my .02 |
When it comes to boats amount in doesn't equal amount out. They are generally a total loss on money. They are an addiction albeit a legal one. Most people are constantly changing upgrading and maintaining not always because of need but also because its part of the addiction.
Very well said!! |
