Why not go to at least an F250 or Excursion? I towed my 312 with a Navigator. It was not fun at all......glad it was leased too. It didn't shift the same when I turned it in as it did when it was new. I just didn't know any better and OSO wasn't around yet.

I would highly recommend against the F150 or Expedition.

Not. Safely. Possible.

Max tow rating on any Expedition of that era is 9200 lbs, properly equipped.

As someone already mentioned but I thought bared reaffirming, the new F150 and Expedition are not on the same chassis. The F150 has a solid rear axle and the Expedition has an independent rear axle. Which is not good at controlling a towed load at all.

Anyone who has driven one of those independent rear Expeditions and tried a emergency lane change maneuver can tell you, it has enough trouble keeping the truck itself under control much less anything its towing.

Braking performance would be the same or close enough, but independent axles are very poor at handling weight, either carrying or towing it.
