Default A couple of 260SS questions

I need to run a transducer and smartcraft cable from the engine compartment up to the dash. Does anyone know if there is an opening behind the rear starboard seatback and if so how do you remove the seat back. Also, if anyone has any advice on running these cables I would appreciate it.

Thanks,

Bill

Bill,
I had to run a new transducer cable to my dash. What I did was get two peices if threaded rod I had laying around, attached them together & taped the cable to it & ran it up the starboard side from the engine compartment, put my arm in the hole where the speaker is & grabbed it all. No need to remove any seats!

Thanks, I will try that.

My boat has what looks like sound insulation at the front of the engine compartment. It looks like it is held on with bolts and fender washers. Did your boat have this insulation and did you have to remove it? All the cables and wires running forward go thru or around this insulation.

Thanks,

Bill

Yes, I have insulation there also. The area where the cables go, if I remember correctly, is up high in the compartment on driver's side where the shift & throttle cables go.
