Default best prop for 24LS

Just wondering what you guys with 24LS's are using for props. Im currently using the ss 21p Michigan wheel that came with the boat. The pitch seems right, but im sure there are better performance props out there. Im guessing a better prop would kick me up 2-3 mph. MIrage? others? I just dont want to buy the wrong prop. boat is 87 LS. hp around 350.

thanks

On my 242 the best all around prop I had was the mirage plus 21p.

I tested alot of props on my old 242.

I had a 496HO with a B1 drive with the 1.65 gearing.

Absolute best was the Bravo 4 blade 28p lab. 3mph faster over the
whole rpm register.

3blade vs 4blade is like night and day. Maybe you could try an
Bravo one 22p? But that might be to big. Are you hitting the rev limiter with your 21?

How is your hole sot with that 21? I ran a 15 rev 4 with 325 hp. I boat in Lake Erie and hole shot and popping on and off plane in rough seas was my top priority not top end.

The very best combo I ever saw was a 21" Mirage Plus with a 1.65 ratio drive. Great hole shot...great throttle response and decent top end. The boat was very strong...and I mean outboard strong from 0-45. ..ran out of beans at 5200 and 50 mph but it was a great all around package if top end is not your thing.

Do the 242's need a bow lifting or stern lifting prop? I have read they need stern lifting around here but the mirage is supposed to be bow lifting. Mine came with a 23p mirage plus but it's a 502 with 1.5:1. With the hook on the stern you need to get that out of the water for more speed.

thanks for all your answers, a 21 mirage seems to be the consensus best all around prop. I'll probably go with one of them
what Dia. everyone using 14.75? 14.50?
