Default 353 Anchor

Tried to put my Fortress X11 in the 353's anchore locker and... no dice, was just too big. What anchors are the 353'ers out there using?

Some years ago I took a piece of aluminum (cut from a trailer beam) and made a shortened shaft for a fortress anchor.....roughly the same length and the flukes. I then added a few extra feet of chain to help weight it down to bite the bottom. I didn't want to cut the original piece incase it didn't work but I still use it like that today (different boat now).

I use a "Box" Anchor. It colapses to a flat position and fits real nicely in the storage locker in the bow.

+ 1 for the box ancor. Don't have an ancor locker on the 357 but the ancor holds good and is easy to store. one more plus no chain need.

Damn that thing looks Medieval!

Im going to modify the Fortress, if that doesn't work I'll look into the Box.

LOL Who cares what it looks like as long as it works! You're not wearing it around your neck, (I hope) (!) you're storing it in your anchor locker where nobody sees it (because it fits nicely) and throwing it to the bottom of the water whenever you need to anchor your boat. The other nice thing that F357 mentioned, is that you don't need to put anchor chain on it for it to work, which makes it much easier to handle. Good luck with the modification of your fortress... if it doesn't work at least you know a good option!
