my buddy went 107, hes not making 900 hp, but I would thing around 800....you can keep the drives together if you maintainence them, he don't have many issues...2 fails in 6 years, one was a helmet breaking not the drive, that's not too bad at all for a Bravo style drive..

I know of 2 Fastechs that responded very favorably to 2" shorties Mike. My 336 didn't.

I had my eye on your lowers but wasn't in a position to get them .... Do you know what they went on and how it worked out? I think my drives are deeper (98) than newer hulls .....m

They're going on a 303 with built engines next spring. Guy lives in IL.

Lowers will help as well as boxes, but looks like you might have a pretty good set up there now. How's it feel at 100 Mike? Shorties will loosen it up a bit, but you have to "drive" it thru the chine. Conditions HAVE to be right too. No sense becoming a statistic. Be safe!

The IMCO lowers will be faster than the Merc Sportmasters, but will leave less steering on the table, shorter skeg. I've been running the -2 Sportmasters since 2008 and have been playing with spacers. Looks like the best is -2 with the boxes. You may need a spacer without the boxes.

I also hear that the 34's aren't what they are cracked up to be. Not sure if it's true or not, but I heard that Merc changed the casting for that prop only. Not sure it's 100% true, but a comment someone made to me a few years ago.

The lake we live on (Dr. Lake, where Whiteys Fish Camp is) is about 5 miles long and maybe 1.25 miles wide .... The wind had come up and we made about 4-5 passes and with other boats pulling tubes ect ....you get the picture .... anyway it wasnt what I would call relaxing .... I know we have done 80-85 blast with smooth conditions and it was smooth as silk .... I just dont know if its better on the drives to pull the 5800+ with the 32's or 5400+ with the 34's ... But your probably right ... I'm trying to force it faster and with your advice I would be removing Drag to "let" the hull go faster ....to a point .......m

higer rpm will be better on drives, takes torque away... that's what Hydromotive swears by... as long as you are still in power range...
