Justin,

I cannot thank you enough, you were a Gentleman from beginning to end , Pablo is thrilled with the way you treated him, the communication and understanding that you had was the best you could imagine, felt same way when I bought my boat from "lil red" last year, and you know what, I guess you made 2 new friends here in Miami, at the end of the year when you come down, we will be thrilled to take you out on the ocean and have some fun, like we did when Lil Red came down.

Pablo will add his comments soon...

Thanks Oso for letting us meet great people, you all know who you are !!!

Diego9040 10-26-2013 07:57 PM

Pics coming soon by new owner.

masi242 11-17-2013 06:14 PM

What a nice looking boat, it should do fine in the open ocean.

sprink58 11-18-2013 08:01 PM

Yeah....the weather on the pat three weekends has been sucky....yet today was great....but it's friggin Monday!!!

masi242 11-19-2013 03:55 PM

That`s what they make half days for so get out there.:lolhit: I only have to wait another six months thats bs.

Diego9040 11-19-2013 09:19 PM

Pablo paid half of the job 3 weeks ago and they haven't even started with the installation of the closed cooling kits yet, he is getting a bit upset with these people, they are a pretty well known shop all around the country, for some reason a $ 6000 job seems to be too small to care for them. Should I mention the name...?

jeff32 11-19-2013 10:18 PM

6000???

I don't get it!!! really that expensive?

heck ya post the name of the shop doing the work. It will either kick start them in the ass to get the job started/finished, and or help other OSO members stair clear of that shop.

professor_speed 11-20-2013 07:46 AM

Did they give him a time frame? I have waited that long on parts before so I guess that could be part of the problem?

I understand they are busy with key west, but come on it has been 3 weeks that the boat has been sitting with no fun.

I don't know Diego....weather looks bad for us through the Holiday...

http://forecast.weather.gov/MapClick...5#.UpKdTdKRB_E

We might get lucky with the wind coming out of the SW and the mainland knocking it down...but still it's calling for gusts in excess of 25 Knts. We shall see.

Got it out last Wednesday boat handled great but we need to dial in props to spin those 509's to at least 5400.
With the bravo one 26p , we are spinning them to 4700.
These engines Dynoed over 630hp at 5800 rpm if I remember correctly

Crude Intentions 11-30-2013 10:09 PM

What speeds at 4700

I do have a set of 25p regular mirages that we r going to try on,then . We'll see, how it reacts to that.

something here dont seem right .did someone change the props on you ???. 630 hp and only turning them 4700 will hurt the motors in the long run .how was run like this as long as it has without anyone questioning it ????

i had a 89 357 trs drives 502s w imco exhaust clay smith cams stk intakes and 800 holleys 27 mirage props spinning 5100 + and i know i had no 630 h/p

I was thinking the same thing ..... my 311 was turning 28 B1's 52-5300 .... I could run the 27 or 29 Mirage but the 28 B1 worked the best ... 600HP ....

My question would be where did you get the 630HP Number?

Diego,

According to the Prop Slip Calculator that's 15% slip...while not great isn't terrible either.

Is the 272 for sale?

The 357 is my friend's boat and I am trying to help him, get it dialed in.
now my 272 ? hey everything has a price, it has been running great since I bought it(nov 2012 ) 64 mph all day, very reliable with stainless marine and long custom risers, ( ready for a big hp bump) :evilb:

Now my friends 357 is going back to the shop tomorrow and we'll check a couple of things, I will post dyno sheets soon , engines were built by Fever Marine in Indiana, both seller and engines builder are really experienced boaters, we'll see how it develops. But I agree, it should be running a lot faster.

Power stats from 2007.

In 2007 this boat had twin 555hp 509cu, steel head motors, aftermarket Hardin exhaust and Mallory ing. / stock bravo 1.5 drives and 24 pitch 4 blade lab props. with 100 gals and good chop boat ran 5100 rpms and was at 70 max out. At 630hp how much faster could this hull be pushed? 3-5 mph? Diego keep us posted on the numbers/stats

We are not so much above from those hp #'s since in the dyno sheets these engines are producing around 580 hp at 5100 rpm ,(peak hp was at around 5600 rpm)next step is labbing the 24p bravo 1's, also we had a windy day and 6 month old fuel ( builder told us yesterday to use only 93 octane) . I have no doubt that we can get to 70mph with some adjustments and that would make sense compared to your numbers, thanks for your post.

See the 2 attachments here showing Dyno sheets on one of the engines, it looks like at 5200 rpm we have 578HP and 583lb/Tq so 70mph should be the target with this set up.
