Don't see many 465. They are 502's. Have the same Cam as the 540" "Bulldog". Should sound nasty :evilb:

86242ls 02-10-2014 03:02 PM

Interesting, to bad it wasn't available when I was searching for a 311...

That is one sweet Formula.

Dave

fglightning 02-10-2014 06:53 PM

I also was looking at this boat today on ebay.... Looks very clean

88242LS 02-10-2014 07:45 PM

wow what a find

CBlakeNS 02-10-2014 08:00 PM

Good looking boat!

88242LS 02-10-2014 08:06 PM

Only drawback is the int, those humps on lower backseat are cool but don't make the ladies happy, we passed on a 292 just like this

dsmawd350 02-10-2014 08:10 PM

Yeah I prefer the flat open bench over rear bolsters on s big 70 mph boat like this no need

38fountainecman 02-11-2014 06:59 AM

You just can't go wrong with a 311 SR1. I had a 1990 292 SR1 with 454 365 HP and it was just one sweet boat. Put over 700 hours in 7 years on that boat and it never missed a beat. Added stainless marine exhaust, but this boat has good exhaust. My only suggestion for this boat would be full hydraulic steering. Had a friend that had 502 mags and bumped the hp to around 550 and had the boat up to 80 mph. Ran in any seas out there. This is just a timeless classic, probably one of the best models formula ever built. And . . . . . you get a liquor bar!!!

88242LS 02-11-2014 01:17 PM

honestly, it might be one of the best boats ever built factoring convenience, appearance and speed for the era

88242LS 02-12-2014 01:44 PM

anyone buy it yet? this was the talk of our boat club meeting last night,, will it end up in Buffalo????

Perfect Storm 02-12-2014 05:26 PM

I loved my 311, but I'm a firm believer in keeping stock power in a boat, and like most power boaters, after cruising around in it for 8 yrs. I wanted to go just a little bit faster :lolhit: No question that it's a great package and looks like a sweet boat (!), but forking over 39k for a 1991 boat no matter how clean is a difficult thing to do... so far, 842 people (and counting) who have looked at it on ebay agree.

dsmawd350 02-12-2014 05:49 PM

Its 35k not 39 but still I think its one of the higher priced sr1 boats I've seen

Most people (including myself) would require the trailer to get it home... The "Buy it Now" price doesn't include the trailer. He wants an additional 4k for the trailer 35k + 4k = 39k

dsmawd350 02-12-2014 06:37 PM

Oh my bad just skimmed the ad. Yeah I agree call it 40 for a 23 yr old boat with the old colors. Its a very clean example but 40k idk

88242LS 02-12-2014 07:34 PM

ya but people that own Formula's are retarded :angry-smiley-038:and will pay more, someone is thinking about the money in the bank and getting the nicest possible boat out there, even if over paying a tad, IMO 30 should take it all home,,,

JBA 02-13-2014 09:02 AM

That is a lot of money just for the better engines. I found pretty much the same boat minus the special engines for 19,000 in the same general location LOTO. Are the engines worth the extra money?

86242ls 02-13-2014 11:09 AM

That's a nice find however, to me the ebay one from the pictures blow the cl ad one away! 330's vs 465's... if I was still in the market id be all over the ebay 311 though I'm very particular in buying a clean older boat even if its more money. I searched for over a year to find what I was looking for. Where can you get a boat for that kind of money with stock power that will run, and ride as good as this 311!

32 Active Thunder 02-13-2014 11:43 AM

Boat looks mint!!!

IMO this is a pretty good buy, the 311 on ebay is not, it is however a great find!! and trust me someone is working on it and willing to pay 30 with trailer, I bet he will need to get to that to move it even if it is as mint as said to be.. so now u have to consider what will 30k buy in today's boat market?? not much gonna compare to that 311.

buckknekkid 02-13-2014 05:59 PM

Color can be changed easy, Ive put a lot of work into mine and Im happy to hear all the good things from OSO guys about their 311's

I paid not much over $30K for my 96 303 SR1 with EFI mags and trailer. Mine looks to be just as clean at this one is. I'd say this boat would have to be in the $20's for a decent sale.

.

I also paid over 30 for my 303, but it has 502 efi's and a 1 of paint scheme, but if you had 30k today and were looking at a 303 and this 311 the 311 is way more boat, and with that power the speed will be a wash

88242LS 02-14-2014 03:30 PM

then again found this,

http://greenbay.craigslist.org/boa/4310858621.html

88242LS 02-14-2014 03:30 PM

looks like 7.4 330's though

Sea Ducer 02-14-2014 10:10 PM

This boat is as close to a new 1991 as I can find.

Perfect Storm 02-15-2014 08:35 AM

Says it's SOLD http://www.ebay.com/itm/1991-Formula...wer_Motorboats

88242LS 02-15-2014 08:47 AM

so where is it going???

Rattlesnake Jake 02-15-2014 09:09 AM

A 336 with 500s is the way to go IMHO..

Hopefully if it sold the person would find there way here, would be nice to know if it was as in as good of shape as was described.

The listing on ebay was a "Buy it Now" price, (in other words "Take it or Leave it" for 35k). So, because it sold on ebay, I would presume that it sold for 35k. If the buyer wants the trailer, then he has to pay an additional 4k. I personally wouldn't pay 39k for that package, but the boat looked REALLY clean and has low fresh water hours. If you were in the market for and had to have a 311, it certainly appears to be a very fine specimen!

88242LS 02-15-2014 11:44 AM

I'm sure someone clicked it after negotiating the trailer into it, but u never know

I don't think so, because the "SOLD" listing doesn't include the trailer... If you negotiate something with the ebay seller that changes the terms of the original listing, you shouldn't click "Buy it Now" unless the seller REVISES the listing to include the re-negotiated terms. Even ebay advises against this. It's very simple for the seller to revise the original listing (before you click "Buy it Now") to include re-negotiated items, then both parties to the sale are protected because it's in writing.

Sea Ducer 02-15-2014 02:50 PM

It's a great boat and it's going to stay at LOTO.

Do we owe a congrats? or do u know the person who bought it?

Sea Ducer 02-15-2014 05:19 PM

I did it, I looked at a couple of those $19k boats referenced earlier and there is no comparison. This thing is virtually a time capsule, and I love this hull style. I do however need to find a new home for my 1985 272 LS. You can view my listing on LOTO CL.
