Default 357 sr1 vs 353 fastech

I would like to have expert's opinions on this subject as to how do you compare overall performance between this 2 boats , besides the fact that a fastech with same power will be faster cause of the stepped hull, heard some opinions over the weekend and would love to hear more...

I would love this to be constructive and objective for other members as well leaving fanatism aside.

Regards

Ps: hope not to open a can of worms here

Wouldnt 353 and 311be more comparable? 357 and 382? I don't care I like all formulas but that's my thought.

Mr. Maine is correct. SR-1 are centerline length, Fastech are overall length.

357 is 35 ft 7 in WITHOUT the bolt on swim platform whereas the 353 is 35ft 3 in WITH the integrated platform. The 357 will be 2.5 ft longer, and weigh considerably more. Combining weight, length, and stepped hull factors there's easily a 10-12 mph difference in speed from the 357 to the 353. As far as ride, the 353 was much more "nimble" than my 382. A buddy had a 272 and 357 and the straight hull certainly feels more planted or glued to the water (which is part of why it is slower). None are a bad choice, just different.

Well I've never been on a 357 but I have been on a 272, 336 ,311 and own a 353. Personally I love the fastech's. A lot more modern, lot less cloth and more vinyl, lot less almost no wood, modern looks and colors etc... I think some of the sr1 stuff is great for the money but it's hard to compare the sr1 vs Fastech stuff. The 357 will be a bigger boat but the 353 will feel a lot more balanced and nimble. For 35 feet the 353 rides pretty damn good. I think the lack of wood in Fastech's alone is worth it to me.

Plus the white dash is s great update, walking on those dark dashes on the older Formula were hot and I mean hot, I had a 312 with one, it had to go, white is where it's at.
