Default Windshield screws loose

Anyone else have the top two screws in the center where the two front halves of the windshield come loose and back themselves out? I had one shear off, the other is loose and maybe sheared off also. Other than a larger size what can be done for this? My plan was to take off windshield and replace with custom fairing but wife says no.

i know mine is a little loose at the back on either side. I keep having to tighten both back screws. I've put some though into pulling the windshield, not to replace, but to repaint. My fear though if I remove it is that it will not go back the way it was and be loose in even more places. Too much of a nightmare to repaint with it still attached. Way to much to tape off. Something I still need to think about and plan out if I decide to do it.

Yes, have to tighten often. Mine have never backed out enough to fall out though. Have you tried a longer screw with lock washer?

If the screw is striped go with a slightly larger diameter with a touch of silicone. Every year I check all my windshield screws. Do not forget about the ones under the windshield gasket.

yep mine back out too. I tightened all of mine up when I first got the boat, and they have already started loosening back up.

I thru bolted the rear of the windshield where it turns up. But i will go bigger screws with some locking compound...I hate windshields, a smooth fairing would be the ticket. Yall think my wife would notice?

Mine is thru bolted all the way around, never have to tighten them. We did this when it was being built because on my first 382 it was screwed and they keep coming loose. And both my 311s too for that matter.
