This thread is getting me PUMPED! I picked up a 311 last Summer...420/TRS deal. We are currently building all new 572's with Konrad Drives. Anyone on here have such a combo? These are going to be "serious" motors...10.4 compression, Hyd. Roller cams, Edelbrock 356 Rec Port Alum heads, Quick Fuel 1050 Dominators, SS headers.....will we see 100???
Maybe if you survive it :eekdrop::eekdrop::eekdrop: You definitely need hydraulic steering or that thing will be so squirmy you won't be able to take your hands off the wheel to reach the throttles. lol Keep us posted and we need pics. :D |

Just as you learned to respect the power of a drag car on land you MUST respect the power in water. Don't ever think that your land experience will help in the water; it won't. When a hull gets over 70 MPH in water the production steering that comes on a marine package is inadequate to handle the speed and forces of power on that level. If you want safety and you value your skin just the way it is you need hydraulic steering for the kind of speeds your shooting for. It would be foolish to attempt it otherwise. Serious! |
I wonder if anyone has notched the transom and raised the x a ways on one of these. Like the fountain is and like some do to the cigs and some scarabs?
|
bueller??

Got me thinking about the steering....My EARS are Open! Doing some "investigating"...sounds like over 70mph becomes an "issue"?? Stock this ran 68.....but is obviously going to be considerably faster this Spring. I agree on the "RESPECT" thing! Trust me! What have people done with similar boats?? THANKS! Tim

well mine will have either a pair of built 502s or a pair of 496 strokers depends on how much it takes to find a pair of blocks

Got both my 420's For Sale?
|
I got 454 blocks for the 496s but I only have 1 502
