Need to replace the TV/DVD in the Fastech. Where have you guys gone to get a new TV/DVD unit for yours?

Thanks,

Chris

I did this a month or 2 ago... Ended up doing this with a mount from WalMart...

I thought mine was a 32 but It could be a 28", I'm not sure... I have a 330 and this fit nicely

I went to Sams club and got a Vizio to stick in the 357. There was a nice heavy duty aluminum TV mounting bracket that would swivel on ebay. It looked to me like it could take a pounding with out any problems so that is the route we went.

Post up how this goes, I'm interested in the r&r in the 353. From what it looks like the mirror has to come out of the head to get to the brackets. Hopefully I'm wrong, I need to do this job shortly too.

You are correct. The mirror does have to come off in order to access the brackets. I will be getting to this task next month. I will post some pics if you need them. I really do not think this process is a big deal though. Finding the right TV will probably be harder....

If your boats are anything like mine good luck getting the mirror out. It's screwed in and glued down with mastic, I wasn't able to get it to budge even with suction cups. What I ended up doing was taking a skill saw to the original mount to open it up and get access to the bolts. Once it was open I was able to get the bolts and the rest of the mount off. After that it was easy, just drill a few holes in the mirror with a diamond core bit and mount the bracket. I did run a few zip screws into the mount and the bracket to keep the TV from bouncing off the mount.

No need for any prying it off....

I already did the hard work there. The TV works fine, the DVD is intermittent.

Under the TV are two Philips screws, remove them and slide the TV up and off. No need to mess with the mount on the mirror, it's solid.

The new TV will have the same mounting holes as the bracket on the existing TV and slide right back into place.

DONE!

Don't make me fly out there just to put a new TV in......

AXA, did you modify the tv mount or is that how you remove the stock tv? Thought the mirror in the head had to come off to access? Thank you for posting.....how about finding a pair of the cnc steps laying around? You would not believe what the factory wants for the sets in stock!
