Tom, i am looking at what to do with mine also, to get a preview of results i got some construction paper from wally-world cut it to match dash panels then spray painted them with option colors, white, red. Silver i could then mix n' match these overlays to get a real good visual of results before any committment.
Good luck.

I bought some cutouts from JRapp. They should be here next. His cutouts were from a twin engine 242, but I'm going blown, and will be adding a bunch of gauges to the panel. Total mounting locations is 12, and I'll be able to fill at least 11 spaces.

I'm at the parts-gathering stage right now so I probably won't have anything to show until later in the spring, but I think I have a good plan going.

Sorry that I didn't get back to you...

Really nice boat! I liked the change to white. Could be a project for next season... that's if I get everything done this go around!

Tom-

This isn't for a 242 but this is for my 292 Sr-1. I was going to do carbon fiber, but after going to the boat show a few weeks ago, I decided to copy what Formula is doing on their new boats. I used 1/4 black Lexan, and I think it turned out pretty good. I still need to cut out for the trim and drive indicators. Other than that, it's pretty much done.

I used a real carbon panel, it came out pretty good but the edges are impossible to get perfect even after hours of finishing. To do it again I would do aluminum and hydro coat it.
