My question is... has anyone ever thought about converting one to twins? There is no need for triples and the 419 can be had at some really great deals. Re powered with a nice reliable twin setup or twin diesels with surface drives. It wouldn't break any speed records but would be a great cruising boat.

Owned a 1997 419 fastec with triple 525 sc and bravo 1's for about 10 years. I loved the triples, it was really fun starting not one, not two, but three engines at the dock. Always had a crowd when I opened the sun pad. Boat ran flat and got on plane with little or no bow rise. It was a wave crushing machine, no doubt. Saw 83 mph in Florida heat and ran at least 80 under any conditions. Had generator, hot water, ac/heat, full head, stayed on the boat every chance I got. It would be interesting to do twin staggered 700's or something like that. Surface drives would also really wake that hull up I'm sure. Had a 357 Kamma that ran really well for that hull. Towed the boat with an F350 Diesel Dually. Must have a triple axle trailer with disc brakes on all three axles and electric over hydraulic brake system. Pulling one around is easy as it is only an 8'-6" +\- beam, but a biotch to stop.

Are you talking about this boat? http://lakeshoreyachtsales.com/Listings/41-formula/
You should offer them about $35K and they should jump all over it.
They are over priced compared to this http://www.yachtworld.com/boats/1997.../United-States
Great boating.
