Can you educate stupid? What do you mean when you talk about painting the bottom? :-) Here in Finland the bottoms ar always painted so I'm just wondering if Iäm missing the point?

Bottom paint is different from a typical painted or gel coat bottom. It's usually done on cruiser boats that stay in the water constantly, it helps protect the gel coat from blistering and from sea life growing on to the bottom.

Ok then I got it right. Here our boats usually stay at seawater for the whole summer and the bottoms are always painted to stop sea life growing. Mine stays at lake most of the summer but it still has old bottom paint on after last owner.
